  ASKOM  on AUTOMATICON 2003 fair

In response to the more and more frequent enquiries about our product from abroad, we have put an English version of the asix system, together with full documentation on sale. The English demo version of the program was eagerly received by the foreign visitors, who each year arrive at the AUTOMATICON fair in bigger numbers. The asix system application for Siemens, Wago and B&R controllers incited a lively response from the visitors.

The sewage treatment plant control system was configured on the basis of the devices manufactured by B&R, who received THE GOLDEN MEDAL OF AUTOMATICON 2003 for their ETHERNET PowerlinkTM technology. The system 2005 controller from B&R, together with a touchscreen operator panel, constitutes a solution designed and implemented by Technicon - one of the many companies holding the status of an asix system integrator. The integrators significantly contributed to the fact that asix has been, until now, applied at more than 1200 workstations.

The coke battery management system, combining various structures of control systems and communication networks, received special exposure. Viewed from the technological side, the battery operates under the supervision of the SIMATIC S7-400 controller connected with the operator layer equipped in two asix visualization system servers.

Many people visiting our stall were interested in the ability to use the Internet for access to asix environment data from the level of a standard browser. Our stall presented a remote terminal (portable computer) connected via Internet protocol with the asix server supervising the sulfuric acid manufacturing installation control system. A server equipped with a set of WebServices provides access to current and archival asix environment data through the Internet.

A new product presented at the fair was the AsLogger – a logger of quick-changing measuring series. It is software enabling the logging of a series of measurements with a resolution of 1 microsecond in the SQL database. The AsLogger is an indispensable tool for analyzing research experiments, assessing electrical protection, diagnostics and processing streamlining. Soon we will proceed to sell the program through our website.

Despite the uneasy condition of the national economy, we believe that the AUTOMATICON 2003 fair was a successful event, and the number and level of interest of our visitors exceeded our expectations. We invite you to visit our stall at the AUTOMATICON fair the next year.
