ASKOM and SIEMENS Industry Software together at the Food Automation 2019 Conference
The 4th Food Automation 2019 conference (www.konferencja-foodautomation.pl) was held on 11-12th April 2019 in the very heart of Silesian Beskids, in the newly opened Golden Tulip Hotel in the village of Bystra near Bielsko-Biała; the conference was devoted to the broadly-defined automation of production processes in the food industry.
Some of the aspects raised during the conference included the production process automation and its financing, the new VAT rates and their implications for the food industry, the technologies of the future such as the artificial intelligence or augmented reality. Siemens was the Technological Partner to the event, while Polska Federacja Producentów Żywno¶ci - Zwi±zek Pracodawców (Polish: Polish Federation of Food Industry - Union of Employers) was the Strategic Partner.
ASKOM was represented at the conference by Tomasz Cwołek - Head of the Industrial IT Systems Department, who, on behalf of and at the invitation of SIEMENS Industry Software, used the example of several implementations of the SIMATIC IT RnD Suite system to demonstrate how digitalisation could support modern industrial plants - not just in the automation of production as such but also as regards the processes of R&D Departments launching new products and the full management of a modern Quality Control lab.
The conference included a presentation of the latest trends in the digitalisation of production processes and their implementability based on the unique and comprehensive range offered by SIEMENS and designed to fully integrate automation systems with the MOM-class industrial IT systems for production planning (APS) and execution (MES) and for quality assurance (LIMS) and further with business systems such as e.g. SAP ERP.
